Definira spremenljivko primerka za razred. Za branje in zapisovanje spremenljivk te vrste morate zanje ustvariti tudi metode dostopa. Za samodejno nalaganje ustreznih operaterjev lahko uporabite tudi kratko kodo attr_reader, attr_writer ali attr_accessor.
