Clear your search history in Chrome
Follow the steps below to delete search history from Google Chrome installed on your PC or Mac.
- Open Google Chrome on your laptop or PC and click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
- Go to “History” and click “History” in the menu. You can also press Cltr H on Windows or Cmd Y on Mac.
- Now click on “Clear browser data” on the left side of the menu.
- Select the Browsing History box and click Clear Data.

Delete the search log from your Google account

To clear your history using the Google Search app, follow these steps:
- Open the Google app on your Android smartphone and tap on your profile photo.
- In the menu, go to search history.
- Select the delete option and select the date range as per your needs. You can select “Today”, “Custom Range”, “Delete All Time”, etc.
When you are done, select the Delete option and your search history will be deleted automatically.
Using Google Chrome

How to set up automatic deletion of Google My Activity
Google also allows you to automatically delete activities in your Google search history. On Google's My Activity page, you can delete your search, web, and activity history every three, 18, or 36 months. How to activate this feature.
- In Chrome or any other browser, open the My Google Actions page.
- Go to “Web and App Activity” and scroll down until you find the “Automatic Delete” section.
- Click Select automatic removal option and select the duration of automatic removal. You have the option to select between periods of 3 months, 18 months or 36 months.
- Click “Next” and you will see a list of searches for that time. Click OK.
This allows you to automatically delete all search activity from your Google account over a period of time.
How do I stop Google from tracking my activities?
Many users do not want Google to track their browsing history. However, the company allows you to limit tracking on the My Activities page. To stop tracking your search history:
- Open the My Activities page on your computer or mobile device.
- Click the “Web and App Activity” section and select “Close” on the next page.
